You can connect to Asylum MUD by several means. The first method involves using the standard Windows Telnet program. Some windows installations do not have this client properly installed in your PATH setting. If the program does not load immediately then the program is either not there, or you cannot see it. If you have a problem, first look in the directory c:\windows for the program telnet.exe. Failing that, you should download the program from the Internet.
The second method involves connection through our custom designed Java Client. This will only work if you have a 32bit machine ie Win 95, Win 98, or Windows NT.
Here we have collected a list of clients you can download which have a number of advantages over straight telnet. MUD Clients
If none of the above methods work, it is likely that your network is screening out the higher ports from access. Asylum MUD runs on port 6715 of the standard UNIX port services. Contact your system administrator or ISP to ask about it.
